Stumbling through ruins others have trod
Passing bodies twisted in postures of violent death
The stench of seared flesh hanging thick.
Season of rot. Shapes of abomination
Staggering blind, deaf and silent
A misshapen mass of flies, enshrouding him.
Seething lumps crawling on his body in mindless migration.
Black and glittering.
Falling away as he shambles, in frenzied clumps exploding into
fragmented flight.
His eyes are thousands eyes.
As the flies crawls into him, through every orifice
Now bloated with gases.
He is a black, spinning and buzzing cloud of pestilence.
A growing horror, a fly-shrouded creature
None of his flesh is exposed, nothing of the man himself.
The vermin have claimed him and beneath he lives in darkness.
Shape of abomination, season of rot.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
